This is the fabled 5th edition of the Royal Sound CD, on gold CD. It is in my opinion easily the most enjoyable version of the King Biscuit Flower Hour broadcasts of the 1973 Brussels/Wembley recordings, because of the quality, the track ordering and the fact that everything is on one CD. Completists may prefer to listen to the Brussels concert in its entirety, but in my opinion Mick Jagger knew what he was doing when he substituted the Wembley versions of a few of the tracks (most notably Gimme Shelter). It may not be a complete concert, but it's one hell of a CD. |
